paperite records your meetings, transcribes them and works out who said what, entirely on your Mac. No bot joins the call. No audio leaves the device.
paperite is a macOS app for people who take notes in meetings they cannot send to a server. Recording, transcription, speaker separation and AI summaries all run on the machine. There is no account, no upload step, and nothing for a client to object to when you ask permission to record.
Recorded and transcribed without a server
Bot-free recording is no longer unusual. Otter, Fathom and Fireflies all capture from the desktop now. What still differs is where the audio goes next: those tools upload it to their servers to be transcribed. paperite transcribes on your Mac, using Apple's on-device models. There is no upload step because there is nowhere for it to go.
It works out who said what
paperite separates voices on device and labels each speaker, so the transcript reads as a conversation rather than a wall of text. You can correct the number of speakers and rename anyone, and the transcript re-flows.
No account, nothing collected
Audio, transcripts and summaries are stored locally and processed locally. paperite uses Apple's on-device models rather than a cloud API. The App Store privacy label for paperite reads Data Not Collected.
